Baltic Air Forces Mil Mi-8 SAR Helicopters

1. Mil Mi-8T Hip
Blue 10, Karines Oro Pajegos, 1998. This rescue equipped helicopter wears an international SAR scheme in White, Bright Green and Orange. Rotor blades are Grey. Tail rotors are Blue with Red tips. Warning text on tail is Black. Lithuanian Black and White Vytis crosses are carried on the tail boom. Note the Black 'Mi-8T' text on the forward fuselage and the Lithuanian flag. SAR markings are Black. Code is Light Blue with White outline.


2. Mil Mi-8T Hip
Registration ES-PLW, Piirivalve Lennusalk (Estonian Border Guard Aviation Group), Tallinn, 1998. This rescue equipped helicopter wears an international SAR scheme in White, Black, Dark Green, Orange and Light Grey. Rotor blades are Grey. Tail rotors are Blue with Red tips. Note the White 'Mi-8T' text on the forward fuselage. SAR markings are Black and registration are Black. Piirivalve Lennusalk titling on cabin is Black.


3. Mil Mi-8MTV-1 Hip
Serial No. 101, Latvijas Gaisaspeki (Latvian Air Force), Skulte, Summer 2000. The sole Mi-8MTV-1 in Latvian service is finished in a Dark Green colour scheme overall, with Orange high visibility areas. Lower surfaces are Light Blue. Latvian roundels in Dark Red and White are in two positions on the cabin sides. Serial number, SAR markings and 'Mi-8MTV-1' text are in White. Tail rotor is Grey with Red tips.
