Paraguayan Bombers in the Gran Chaco War

1. Ansaldo SVA-5
Serial no. 2, Paraguayan Fuerzas Aereas Nacionales, 1928-32. This SVA-5 was used for training and support until 1932, after initial use during the Paraguayan Civil War of 1922, when five were delivered. Colour scheme consists of a Natural Wood finish on the fuselage, with Clear Doped Linen flying surfaces. The forward fuselage cowling and details are left in a Natural Metal finish. The rudder carries the Paraguayan national colours of (from top) Red, White and Blue. The national roundel of (from outside) Red, White and Blue is carried on the fuselage sides, and four wing positions. The serial number on the rudder is Black.

2. Curtiss D-12 Falcon
Serial no. 17, Paraguayan Fuerzas Aereas Nacionales, Isla Poi & Nu-Guazu, 1933. Colour scheme consists of Natural Doped Aluminium overall, with the serial number '17' on the fuselage sides in Black. The rudder carries the Paraguayan national colours of (from top) Red, White and Blue, with a Yellow star in the White band. The national roundel of (from outside) Red, White and Blue is carried on four wing positions.

3. Potez 25 TOE
Serial no. 13, Paraguayan Fuerzas Aereas Nacionales, near Saavedra, 1933. Colour scheme consists of Dark Green (closely matching FS34079) overall, with the serial number '13' on the fuselage sides and both lower wing surfaces in White. The forward lower cowling remains in a Natural Metal finish. The rudder carries the Paraguayan national colours of (from top) Red, White and Blue, with a Yellow star in the White band. This aircraft carries unofficial Paraguayan roundels (consisting of a Red star on a White disc, with a central Blue dot with a White outline) in four wing positions. This unusual marking, which was applied in the field, appears to have been applied to aircraft serialled 4 and 5, in addition to this one.
